I am sad to say that the film score community has lost one of it's last true greats this morning. Composer John Barry suddenly passed away from a heart attack at the age of 77.
He was the composer of the iconic James Bond theme and other classics such as The Black Hole, Midnight Cowboy, Chaplin, Out Of Africa, The Lion In Winter and Dances With Wolves.
Barry will be missed and remembered dearly, by film score lovers and fans of film alike.
I will leave you with the cue that attracted my attention to this wonderful composer in the first place.
